Socialization on the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education
Cases of sexual violence in higher education institutions have become a serious concern for the academic community, both internationally and in Indonesia. In response, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia has issued various regulations to prevent and address violence within campuses. In 2021, the government issued Regulation of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Permendikbudristek) No. 30 of 2021 on the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence in Higher Education Institutions. This regulation was later updated through Permendikbudristek No. 55 of 2024 on the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education Institutions (PPKPT), which further reinforces the government’s commitment to creating a safe and violence-free academic environment. In addition, Law No. 12 of 2022 on the Crime of Sexual Violence has also been enacted, which covers sexual violence in various settings, including universities.
The term “violence” in this context encompasses physical violence, psychological violence, bullying, sexual violence, discrimination, intolerance, and repressive policies. These acts of violence may occur directly or indirectly, through electronic or non-electronic means. To support the implementation of these regulations, Universitas Trisakti has established a Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in Higher Education (PPKPT) and has been conducting PPKPT socialization programs across all faculties within the university.
On Monday, 28 July 2025, the Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) Universitas Trisakti held a PPKPT Socialization event at the Auditorium, Campus B. The socialization was delivered directly by the Head of the PPKPT Task Force of Universitas Trisakti, Dr. Maria Sylvia E. Wangga, S.H., M.H. The event began with opening remarks from the Dean of FKG Usakti, drg. Wiwiek Poedjiastoeti, M.Kes., Sp.BMM, Ph.D., followed by remarks from the Vice Rector III of Universitas Trisakti, Ir. Yoska Oktaviano, M.T.
The event was attended enthusiastically by lecturers, educational staff, and students. Through this socialization, it is expected that the entire academic community can actively contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all individuals.
