On Thursday, October 10, 2024, the Conservative Dentistry Specialist Program (PDGS) of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Trisakti held a Scientific Seminar and Expert Lecture, supported by PT. Revoden Asia. The guest speaker, Dr. Tara McMahon, presented on the topic “Does Heat Treated NiTi Facilitate Endodontic Therapy?”

Root canal treatment involves several steps: isolation, access, shaping, irrigation, and obturation. Among these, the shaping procedure is essential to facilitate thorough cleaning of the root canal and to prepare an appropriately shaped canal for obturation.

The use of heat-treated NiTi files is a technique designed to assist dentists in the shaping process. Heat treatment significantly enhances the flexibility of NiTi files, making them more resistant to fracture. This seminar aimed to provide comprehensive insights into endodontic treatment for all participants in the Conservative Dentistry Specialist Program (PPDGS).
