On Sunday, December 1, 2024, the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Trisakti, proudly hosted Dentistry Smart 2024, a prestigious national competition themed “CARABELLI” (Calling All Forthcoming Dentists to Achieve Brilliance in Dental Skills and Knowledge). This event brought together 366 preclinical and clinical dental students from 23 universities across Indonesia at Campus B of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universitas Trisakti.

The event began with a welcoming speech by Cathreen Mulyani, the Head Organizer, followed by remarks from Alyah Heriandi, S.K.G, Vice President of the FKG Usakti Student Executive Board (BEM). The ceremony was officially opened by the Dean of FKG Usakti, drg. Wiwiek Poedjiastoeti, M.Kes, S.B.M.M, Ph.D, who expressed hopes that Dentistry Smart 2024 would serve as a platform for advancing knowledge and strengthening solidarity in the field of dentistry.

Dentistry Smart 2024 featured three main categories:

1. Poster Competition
   Participants showcased their creativity through visual representations of innovative ideas under the theme:
   “Exploring the Scope: Understanding Oral Medicine to Its Full Extent.”
   • Participants: 84 teams from universities across Indonesia.
2. Quiz Competition
   A test of theoretical knowledge in dentistry, where participants answered questions quickly and accurately.
   • Theme: “Shaping the Future of Dentistry through Insight and Knowledge.”
   • Participants: 28 teams from various universities.
3. Practical Skills Competition
   Participants demonstrated their technical skills at practice stations, emphasizing precision and expertise, focusing on:
   “Posterior Bridge Preparation.”
   • Participants: 30 individuals from multiple universities.

The competitions were marked by dynamic yet fair competition, with participants displaying high levels of enthusiasm and camaraderie. The positive energy created a warm and engaging atmosphere throughout the event.

The event concluded with an award ceremony recognizing the winners as the best in their respective fields. Dentistry Smart 2024 is expected to serve as a milestone for fostering motivation, building professional networks among students from various universities, and inspiring the next generation to continue learning and innovating in the field of dentistry.
