FKG Usakti routinely conducts Community Service activities every year, with different topics. This year the topic will be about the importance of public knowledge and awareness of the prevention of tooth loss in elderly anggrek bulan grogol petamburan. Chief Executive of PkM drg. Octarina, M.Si said that oral health plays an important role in obtaining general health and quality of life of the elderly. Poor oral conditions such as many missing and untreated teeth will interfere with the function and activity of the oral cavity.

The results of the Basic Health Research (2018) state that the Indonesian population has oral and dental problems with a proportion of 55-64 years old as much as 61.9% and >65 years old as much as 54.2%. Oral health is an important factor that affects overall health and which will ultimately affect a person’s quality of life. Some oral health problems that are often faced by the elderly include tooth loss, pain due to cavities, tooth supporting tissue disease, dry mouth, gum inflammation, mouth ulcers and oral cancer.

This PkM activity was carried out on November 25, 2023 which aims to increase public knowledge and awareness of oral health maintenance in senior citizens, especially at the Anggrek Bulan 002 Grogol Posyandu.

The PkM activity was held at the Anggrek Bulan 002 Grogol Elderly Posyandu and was opened by drg. Octarina, M.Si. Through this activity drg. Octarina, M.Si and the entire PkM team (Dr. drg. Didi Nugroho, M.Sc; Dr. drg. Joko Kusnoto, M.Sc., Sp. Ort; Dr. drg. Rr. Asyurati Asia, M. Kes; drg. Mikha Sundjojo, Sp.Perio; Agnes, SKG; Cindy, SKG; Agnes Elviana Lusli, SKG) hoped that senior citizens, especially at Anggrek Bulan Senior Citizen Posyandu, would benefit from the counseling provided.
