Jakarta, 2 September 2025 – The Faculty of Dentistry at Universitas Trisakti (FKG Usakti) held its Opening Lecture for the 2025/2026 Academic Year, carrying the theme “Enhancing the Quality of FKG Usakti Students to Become Independent and Competitive in the Global Era.”

The event took place virtually on Tuesday, 2 September 2025, and was attended by students from various study programs at FKG Usakti, including the Undergraduate Dentistry Program, the Professional Dentist Program, the Specialist Dentistry Education Program (PPDGS), and the Master’s Program in Dental Science (MIKG).

The event began with an opening remark from the Dean of FKG Usakti, drg. Wiwiek Poedjiastoeti, M.Kes., Sp.BMM., PhD. In her address, she emphasized the importance of equipping oneself with both academic and non-academic skills to remain competitive on a global scale.

“FKG Usakti students must become a generation that excels not only academically, but is also adaptive to technological advancements, demonstrates independence, and is prepared to face the increasingly competitive demands of the workforce,” she stated.

Serving as the guest speaker, Ir. Yoska Oktaviano, MT, delivered a presentation on strategies for self-development in the era of globalization. He highlighted three key foundations for improving student quality:

1. The challenges of higher education in the global era, where students must be able to compete and adapt to the rapid development of science and technology.

2. The demand for highly competent dentists, not only in academic and clinical skills, but also in soft skills that support professional competitiveness.

3. Students as agents of change, who play an important role in driving positive transformation within both the academic environment and the wider community.

Through this Opening Lecture, FKG Usakti hopes to motivate all students from various study programs to develop their potential, enhance their academic quality and soft skills, and uphold the values of professionalism in the field of dentistry.

This event serves as the starting point of the new academic year, while laying a strong foundation to nurture independent, high-integrity, and globally competitive dental professionals.
